Did you know that…

After the “Popeye” comic strip was launched in 1931, spinach consumption went up by 33% in the United States.

Elephants communicate in sound waves below the frequency that humans can hear.

The bands on hats traces back to the custom when knights wore their lady-loves scarves around their helmets.

To ensure continuity of government, Prince Charles and Prince William never travel on the same airplane as a precaution.

The term “fan”, as in sports fan, is an abbreviation of the word fanatic?  Various media use to refer to football enthusiast as “football fanatics” which later became football fan.

Spiral staircases in medieval castles are all running clockwise?  This is because all knights used to be right-handed.  When an intruding army would climb the stairs they would not be able to use their right hand, which was holding the sword.  Left-handed men could not become knights because they were assumed to be descendants of the devil!

In real estate, your home address is not your legal address.  The address merely refers to the legal address on the deed and filed with the county clerk.  In Tennessee the “metes and bounds” method of land description is used.  In the metes and bounds method, a property is identified by a properly identified point of beginning, such as “Beginning at the intersection of Main Street and Pine Avenue and continuing due south one hundred and twenty feet.”  That process continues until you return to your beginning point.
